Hey! It's been awesome and pretty cold here!!!

Stay Cool

SNOW!!!

Hadouken!

This past week has been awesome! The language is coming around, thanks to the Lord. Our room decided to begin holding nightly devotionals about something spiritual that we had learned that day. It is awesome to see each of them bear witness of the spirit.
Yes, we can be weird at times.
It was sad to see Sister M. go, but I know she is working things out with her health. She had asked me to give her a blessing and I was shaken after giving it. I gained a personal witness that the power of the priesthood is real and I could literally feel Heavenly Father's love for her. Sister M. lives in Mesa, and is going to be a temple worker, probably for the Mesa temple. Mom, if you happen to be going to Mesa, and you see Sister M. say hi to her from me. She is awesome and has an incredible testimony!

Last Tuesday, Elder Hugo Montoya came the the MTC and spoke with us. The first thing he said was, "Elder's and Sister's, after the last general conference session, people came up to me and showed me a picture or meme which had said, my name is Elder Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die" We all started laughing and it was awesome!

I did run into Sister Nichols Wednesday at dinner. I saw her and I did my high voice, "Sister Nichols!!!" Everyone looked at me and I couldn't tell if she was happy to see me or embarrassed by my outburst of emotion :D Anyway, I gave her the biggest handshake and said to think of it as a hug. It was awesome to see her. We have different schedules though, so I won't see her as often but we run into each other now and again.

Our new favorite word to say with us Elder's is "immortality" which translates to (bu si). So we just yell that at each other all day and it's awesome!

Our District has been chosen to be hosts for this coming Wednesday for the new arriving missionaries, so I may be able to run into Matt and Ren.
Today has been snowing a ton! I was freaking out, it was sweet!

Last night us Elder's watched the Testaments. Yeah... we were all bawling at the end, had to cover our faces before the Sister's could see. :D (No, but we were tearing up pretty good). We had our nightly devotional tonight and I can honestly say that I am so grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ. The amount of love that He must have had is something that I cannot comprehend. I am grateful for Jesus Christ and all that He has done for me and for all of us. I know I wouldn't be here today if it hadn't been for Him and His guidance. I know that this Church is true. I know without a doubt. By testifying of its message, it builds my faith tremendously.

The gift of tongues is real! Have faith that the Lord will help you and he will.

Wo zhi dao, yin wei Yesu Jidu de shuzui, wo men keyi huigai he ganjue ping`an.
(I know, because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can repent and feel peace)

I love the lord. He is my Master, Teacher and Friend. I can call upon him for anything. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Love, Elder Shirley aka Shi Zhang Lao

Week 76..."This past week has been one of faith and might!"

This week, I had the opportunity to watch conference which was an absolute blast! I love hearing from the prophets and apostles speak and offer counsel to those that are seeking it. How grateful I am that our Heavenly Father in this period of time has a prophet upon the earth. I have a testimony that as we heed the words of the prophet and those that are called alongside him, that we will never go astray. This past week has been one of faith and might! I am grateful for the opportunity to come and serve the people of Singapore. It hasn't always been easy but I can honestly say it has been all worth it! A simple principle of faith that I learned from General Conference was what Elder Choi had said saying, "Don't look around, Look up!" I have learned that if all that I do is look around, I can never progress, however, as I continue to steadfastly look up toward heaven, then I find myself changing in so many ways. Axxxxx is awesome! She is something else...

Week 75...Experiences that have increased my faith and built my testimony up this week.

The things you get to learn on a mission are just awesome! I am so glad that I decided to serve the Lord for two years. I would be nowhere close to where I am at right now. I am indeed grateful for the experiences that I have been able to have on my mission and for what they have taught me personally. I know that the Lord, Jesus Christ is very well aware of what I go through and is continuing to lift me up every hour of the day. I know that He lives. His love is real and extends to all who seek it. I wish to share with you some of the experiences that I have had this week that have increased my faith and built my testimony up. Trust in the Lord.  I have really felt the need to say that after the many challenges and trials that seem to be never ending, that I simply can not do it on my own. If I continue to try and do something on my own and just push forward, then I have already failed. I cannot do it on my own. It is sometimes painful to admit that because I feel that in orde...

Week 71...The Sound of Rejoicing

March 5, 2016 Hello! I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ! It is honestly the best thing ever. I know that sometimes it feels like the Gospel can only apply to those that we teach and share with but first and foremost it is to strengthen yourself and give you the confidence and boost of energy that you need throughout the week. I love the Savior Jesus Christ. He is my teacher and exemplar and I look to Him as one of my closest friends and for that I am eternally grateful. This week I have been thinking to myself how I could better help those people that I have been working with feel the power of the Spirit and to continue to be excited to meet again and learn. It was also something that I have been thinking about as we contact other people in Singapore. We do strive to talk with everyone and look for opportunities to serve those around us, however, I have felt that we weren't yielding the same success as weeks prior. Then everything changed!  D&C 28:16 "And thou m...
