One of the best ways to build your testimony of Faith is to teach it to those around you. We had an opportunity to teach our investigator about faith and allowed him to look into his life and how he had faith building experiences that allowed him to make certain decisions in his life. One of the joys of being a missionary and I am not sure if I shared this last week but it is not just seeing the faith within ourselves being strengthened in Christ but helping others to strengthen their faith in Christ. It is such an overwhelming joy that comes as people begin to recognize the spirit and make changes in their lives to live according to the Gospel where they are then able to find that peace and joy that comes from living the Gospel. My invitation is to never be ashamed to share your testimony of what you know to be true with those around us. It is often a simple but powerful testimony that the Spirit of the Lord is felt and hearts are changed and the love of the Savior empowers us to do better.
I
have been strengthened by the hand of the Lord so much this week that it has
left me physically drained. This week was more of a reflection and how much
each of us and each of our investigators and members have grown. It is such an
interesting thing to be able to take a step back and look on how much has
happened and changed. It becomes so apparent that the Lord is very much a part
of this work and is very anxiously engaged. He is not merely watching and
waiting but is actively working to move this work forward. I am grateful that I
have this small part to play in the grand design of His plan.
The
members in B. are small but their hearts are large and caring. Each of them
still have a lot to improve on but they are doing amazing! We are working
toward having 3-hour church and this week we are thinking about different
activities that we can do during those times so that we can keep everyone
anxiously engaged and having a spiritual boost. We hope that this week we can
achieve our goals and slowly progress toward that vision.
Love, Elder Shirley
