Week 32...how good or bad we think our testimony may be, SHARE IT!

I am grateful for the Hand of the Lord in all that I do. I can honestly say that I wouldn't be serving my mission if it wasn't for the love that He gives me. Everyday is always such an opportunity to do the best that we can and to work as hard as we can for it will all be worth it in the end. For a language study, I took the time to watch "Finding Faith in Christ" in Chinese. It brings me to tears each time I watch because I am reminded of the love and sacrifice of the Savior Jesus Christ in whom I love and testify of. I know that He lives. Because He lives, we too shall live. All of us. I know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real. We need not wait until Sunday to feel of his love but every morning, to get on our knees and pour out our hearts to Him. I promise as we do so, His love will be made manifest and we will come to know for ourselves that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.

As Jesus Christ said plainly:

"Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."

The miracle that really impacted me this week was the power in a person's testimony. Our investigator had her baptismal interview just a few days ago and my District Leader was interviewing her. I was praying the entire time that all would be well and that she would be able to pass. As she came out she had a big smile on her face and gave me a high-five. I turned to Elder Gara, who had interviewed her and asked him how it went. He told me that as he interviewed her, he asked her to share her testimony with him. He related that experience saying, "As she shared her testimony with me, my arms just had goosebumps all up and down. She has a powerful testimony and is truly prepared to be baptized!" I was a proud missionary that day, and I still AM! WOW! It is my testimony that no matter how big or small, how good or bad we think our testimony may be, SHARE IT! The Lord will put words into our mouths and fill our very beings with power. What an incredible opportunity it is everyday to share my testimony with thousands of people. This is the Lord's work. Whom the Lord calls, He will qualify.

The members are doing amazing and the branch is growing little by little. Brother S. gave an amazing lesson this week in our Sunday School Gospel principles class. As we discussed the Fall of Adam and Eve and the need of the Atonement, Brother S. asked us this question, "What is the one of the most valuable things that God has given us?" He replied, "Time". This life as Alma has stated "For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors." How important it is to use every single moment the Lord has given us. Are we sufficiently prepared to stand before Him at that last day and account unto Him our lives? To remember every moment? I am so grateful and humbled for our members in our branch. What a blessing it is to work with them. Something that we hope to be able to accomplish in the next few weeks is establish some callings in our group. Our members will then have opportunities to serve and really strengthen each other.

Scripture of the Week: Mormon 9:19-21

"19 And if there were miracles wrought then, why has God ceased to be a God of miracles and yet be an unchangeable Being? And behold, I say unto you he changeth not; if so he would cease to be God; and he ceaseth not to be God, and is a God of miracles.

20 And the reason why he ceaseth to do miracles among the children of men is because that they dwindle in unbelief, and depart from the right way, and know not the God in whom they should trust.

21 Behold, I say unto you that whoso believeth in Christ, doubting nothing, whatsoever he shall ask the Father in the name of Christ it shall be granted him; and this promise is unto all, even unto the ends of the earth."

I know that our Heavenly Father will not change. He cannot change. It is not in His nature. I have a testimony that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true in every detail. I have a testimony of the love from a Heavenly Father who is day by day reaching out to every one of us. I know that His plan of happiness will help each of us to return to our heavenly home and be united with our families for time and all eternity. I love this work and I share my testimony in the sacred name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.

Love,
Elder Shirley

Week 76..."This past week has been one of faith and might!"

This week, I had the opportunity to watch conference which was an absolute blast! I love hearing from the prophets and apostles speak and offer counsel to those that are seeking it. How grateful I am that our Heavenly Father in this period of time has a prophet upon the earth. I have a testimony that as we heed the words of the prophet and those that are called alongside him, that we will never go astray. This past week has been one of faith and might! I am grateful for the opportunity to come and serve the people of Singapore. It hasn't always been easy but I can honestly say it has been all worth it! A simple principle of faith that I learned from General Conference was what Elder Choi had said saying, "Don't look around, Look up!" I have learned that if all that I do is look around, I can never progress, however, as I continue to steadfastly look up toward heaven, then I find myself changing in so many ways. Axxxxx is awesome! She is something else...

Week 75...Experiences that have increased my faith and built my testimony up this week.

The things you get to learn on a mission are just awesome! I am so glad that I decided to serve the Lord for two years. I would be nowhere close to where I am at right now. I am indeed grateful for the experiences that I have been able to have on my mission and for what they have taught me personally. I know that the Lord, Jesus Christ is very well aware of what I go through and is continuing to lift me up every hour of the day. I know that He lives. His love is real and extends to all who seek it. I wish to share with you some of the experiences that I have had this week that have increased my faith and built my testimony up. Trust in the Lord.  I have really felt the need to say that after the many challenges and trials that seem to be never ending, that I simply can not do it on my own. If I continue to try and do something on my own and just push forward, then I have already failed. I cannot do it on my own. It is sometimes painful to admit that because I feel that in orde...

Week 71...The Sound of Rejoicing

March 5, 2016 Hello! I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ! It is honestly the best thing ever. I know that sometimes it feels like the Gospel can only apply to those that we teach and share with but first and foremost it is to strengthen yourself and give you the confidence and boost of energy that you need throughout the week. I love the Savior Jesus Christ. He is my teacher and exemplar and I look to Him as one of my closest friends and for that I am eternally grateful. This week I have been thinking to myself how I could better help those people that I have been working with feel the power of the Spirit and to continue to be excited to meet again and learn. It was also something that I have been thinking about as we contact other people in Singapore. We do strive to talk with everyone and look for opportunities to serve those around us, however, I have felt that we weren't yielding the same success as weeks prior. Then everything changed!  D&C 28:16 "And thou m...
